Accountant maintains and analyzes an organization's financial records, prepares financial statements, ensures compliance with laws and regulations, and provides financial advice to management. Key duties include managing ledgers, budgets, and taxes, performing audits, and reconciling accounts to identify discrepancies and support business decisions. Accountants use financial software and may automate routine tasks to focus on financial analysis, forecasting, risk assessment, and cost-saving strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis :

Prepare, maintain, and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

Ensure the accuracy and transparency of financial records.

Compile financial data and prepare reports for management.

Compliance & Auditing :

Ensure financial records and statements comply with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting principles (GAAP).

Handle tax filings, including preparing and analyzing tax returns.

Perform audits to verify the accuracy of financial data.

Financial Management & Strategy :

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledgers.

Monitor spending and budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Consult with management on financial strategy, risks, and opportunities to improve profits.

Record Keeping :

Accurately record and document all business financial transactions.

Reconcile bank statements and resolve any financial discrepancies.

Technology Integration :

Utilize accounting software and systems to manage and maintain financial data.

Leverage technology, such as AI and robotics, to automate routine tasks and increase efficiency.

Requirements

Work experience as an Accountant. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
