Senior Accountant / VP of Finance (Temporary, Full-Time | Remote)

Venture Capital Firm | US Time Zone (6pm-3am IST) | Big 4 Preferred

We are a venture capital firm  hiring a  Senior Accountant / VP of Finance  on a temporary full-time remote basis, with strong potential to extend. You will report directly to the Director and lead  month-end close, reconciliations, audit support, cross-border payments, and financial reporting .

Key Responsibilities Own  month-end close , accruals, reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and reporting.

Serve as  primary audit liaison ; maintain audit-ready schedules and controls.

Reconcile  Suspense / Clearing accounts  and implement preventive control policies.

Oversee  cross-border payments , tax treatment, and documentation for VC operations.

Manage workflows in  NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERPs ; build and improve finance processes.

Mandatory 48-Hour Practical Test (Shortlisted candidates only) 1-page  Month-End Close Checklist  for a ~5-person VC-backed firm

3 Adjusting Journal Entries  (with workings) from a provided Trial Balance

Reconciliation  of a Suspense Clearing account + proposed policy

250–400 word memo  on  cross-border payment tax / treatment  for VC firms

Must-Have Qualifications 7+ years accounting experience ;  3+ years in a senior role  (Manager / Controller / VP Finance)

Big 4 experience ,  US education , or experience in a  VC / VC-backed / PE  environment

Strong  Excel , reconciliations, external audit, and financial controls background

Experience with  NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems

Excellent  written and spoken English ; available for  EU + US-time calls

Reliable internet; proven ability to work independently in a remote setup
