IDC is seeking a Senior Research Analyst for Digital Platform Software Pricing Data.

We are seeking an analyst with experience to collect, analyze, and interpret data on pricing strategies for software vendors. This position will be central to developing insights to help technology executives confidently and quickly determine the best vendor for their critical software investment decisions.

Responsibilities
- Data discovery, identification and data collection around Software pricing data
- Data standardization - classification of unstructured text input into structured columns . Product, Module, SKU
- Data wrangling from unstructured formats into structured format – and collaboration with Data Engineering teams doing that at scale
- Data analysis including Quality checks, extracting key findings, suggested Quality Remediation
- Definition and co-development of statistical “discount methodology” extrapolated from existing datasets
- Agile collaboration with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Solution Engineers, Product dev teams (information exchange, decision making)
Qualifications
Qualifications (Required)
5+ years experience as a Data Analyst, Market Analyst, Business Analyst or Data ScientistStrong understanding of IT and Software ecosystems and value chainsAdvanced Excel (. pivot, flat file, vlookup, offset, match)Advanced Power Point creation skillsStatistical skills esp. around distribution analysis, quartile analysis, forecastingCommunication skills – Explaining issues, findings effectivelyAnalytical skills – . find and classify the important bits of dataAttention to detail – doesn’t get tired to find issuesCoachability and willingness to learn new systems and skillsOpen feedback mindset (disagree and commit, candor)Creative data problem-solving including ability to create synthetic data with low-levels of data inputAbility to gain trust, negotiate and work with technical teams and business stakeholdersQualifications (additional)
Understanding of modern data architectures (SQL, data lake, cloud plaftorms)SQL coding (query, join)Python / R for Data modellingExperience with LLM Chat interface search and Web data analysis (.
