Job Title : Java Backend Developer – AWS Cloud / API Migration

Location : Gurgaon (Hybrid / On-site)

Experience : 5+ Years

Employment Type : Full-time

Job Overview :

We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in API development and migration within AWS Cloud environments . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying scalable backend systems using Java , Spring Boot , and RESTful APIs . Experience with containerization and Kubernetes (K8s) is a strong plus.

This role involves working on modernizing APIs and migrating them to AWS-based architectures while ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Core Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Lead and support API migration initiatives from legacy systems to modern cloud-based APIs on AWS .
  • Develop, test, and deploy RESTful APIs ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement backend architecture and integration strategies.
  • Build cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, and IAM .
  • Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to coding and security best practices.
  • Participate in CI / CD pipeline setup, deployment automation, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) initiatives.
  • Work in an Agile development environment with active involvement in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintain technical excellence throughout project delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development .
  • Strong proficiency in Core Java , Spring Boot , and RESTful API development .
  • Proven experience in API migration and integration projects.
  • Solid understanding of AWS Cloud services – EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) .
  • Strong knowledge of SQL / NoSQL databases and data modeling.
  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines , Git , and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Terraform, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

    • Good to Have :

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture .
  • Exposure to API Gateway , OAuth , and security standards .
  • Experience with serverless computing (AWS Lambda).
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum practices.
