SMPP protocol Testing

Job Summary :

We are seeking a Senior software engineer with 4 to 6 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Telecom messaging testing and automation.

Required Skills :

Minimum 4 years in telecom / messaging / SMS / notifications or related domain with hands-on work in SMPP, HTTP APIs, SMTP or similar messaging protocols.

Deep understanding of the SMPP protocol (versions such as 3.4 / 5.0), session management, PDU types, binds, etc.

Strong knowledge of HTTP APIs, REST, status codes, etc.

Experience integrating SMTP or email workflows

Proficient with TCP / IP networking, ports, handling connectivity issues.

Comfortable with Linux / Unix server environments (shell scripting, debugging).

Experience with databases (SQL, maybe some NoSQL), reading and optimizing queries.

Good with monitoring, logging, trace + packet capture analysis (Wireshark).

Good programming / scripting skills (e.g. Python, Shell, Perl or any language to write small tools / automation)

Basic understanding of java script, UI automation and Performance

Hands on experience on Test management tools

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Good communication skills – able to interact with internal product / engineering / support teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, develop, and execute test strategies and test cases for telecom messaging products.

Good Understanding of SDLC / STLC

Perform functional, regression, and system testing of software applications.

Identify, document, and track software defects to resolution.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality.

Contribute to test automation framework design, implementation and update test the automation suites for the new changes

Participate in requirement analysis and provide testing expertise.

Must be an Individual contributor and should be able to take the responsibilities of the complete release
