Assortment Analyst

About the Role

We’re looking for two data-driven interns to join our Assortment & Space Planning team. The interns will work closely with the Category and Replenishment functions to refine assortment strategy, optimize non-moving inventory, and support curation decisions through data analytics. This role offers hands-on exposure to real retail operations, business problem-solving, and data-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze store-level sales, DOH, and inventory data to identify slow-moving SKUs and recommend rationalization actions

Support assortment curation by benchmarking category performance across states and sub-categories

Build and maintain Excel / SQL dashboards and trackers to automate daily / weekly monitoring of assortment health metrics

Collaborate with Category Managers and Replenishment teams to drive actionable insights and implement assortment updates

Requirements

Strong proficiency in

Excel / Google Sheets

(advanced formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning)

Basic working knowledge of

SQL

for querying and analyzing large datasets

Strong analytical mindset with an ability to translate data into actionable business insights

Detail-oriented, structured, and comfortable working with large, unclean datasets

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

Prior internship or coursework involving data analytics, supply chain, or category management

Understanding of retail metrics such as DOH, GMROI, ADS, and Sell-through
