Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Controller located in Hyderabad. The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing financial statements, overseeing financial reporting, conducting financial analysis, and managing accounting operations. Day-to-day tasks will include preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and developing financial strategies to support organizational goals. The Financial Controller will also collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

Roles & Responsibilities :

✅Own monthly and annual financial close, delivering accurate and timely P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow with clear variance analysis.

✅ Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario modeling aligned to company milestones and capital plans.

✅Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, liquidity planning, and banking relationships to safeguard runway and fund priorities.

✅Oversee AR, AP, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger discipline with robust reconciliations.

✅Identify cost optimization opportunities and drive process efficiencies without compromising growth or quality.

✅Design and implement strong internal controls, approval workflows, and segregation of duties.

✅Coordinate statutory audits, tax filings, and drive timely corrective actions.

✅Ensure adherence to reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements, scaling processes as operations expand.

✅Administer grants and subsidies, ensuring compliant cost capture, documentation, budget tracking, and reporting to funders.

✅Handle technical accounting for complex life-sciences arrangements (collaborations, licensing, development agreements) with proper revenue recognition.

✅Prepare for IFRS adoption and potential listing readiness in alignment with future capital market plans.

✅Build investor-ready reporting packs, KPI dashboards, and narratives to reflect performance, risks, and runway.

✅Support due diligence, fundraising, and board engagements with robust projections and sensitivity analyses.

✅Develop and maintain a financial risk register across liquidity, compliance, covenants, and exposures.

✅Align insurance cover, contingency plans, and controls with the evolving risk profile and growth stage.

✅Hire, mentor, and lead a lean, high-calibre finance team to deliver business partnering excellence.

✅Standardize financial calendars, policies, and reporting templates to improve cycle times and decision quality.

✅Define service-level standards for cross-functional collaboration across R&D, operations, and commercial teams.

Candidate desired profile :

✅Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) / CPA / CFA / MBA Finance with strong academic background.

✅10+ years of progressive finance experience in the pharma, biotech, or manufacturing sector, with at least 5 years in a managerial / controller role.

✅Proven expertise in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), accounting, compliance, and ERP / finance systems.

✅Strong understanding of grant management, technical accounting in life sciences, and investor reporting.

✅Experience in working with venture-backed or growth-stage companies will be an advantage.

✅Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
