Job descriptionMaking decisions on the evolution of technical architecture Building new features end to end, from talking to customers to writing code Help your engineers grow their skills and experience Author project plans for epics Run agile project management processes Conduct code reviews, and make technical contributions to product architecture as well as getting involved in solving bugs and delivering small features Actively seek and hire distributed talent Conduct managerial interviews for candidates, and train the team to do technical interviews Contribute to the sense of psychological safety on your team Generate and implement process improvements Hold regular 1 : 1's with all members of their team Give regular and clear feedback around the individual's performance Foster technical decision making on the team, but make final decisions when necessary Draft quarterly OKRs and Engineering KPIs Improve product quality, security, and performance 7+ years of full-time software engineering experience Proven experience leading and growing a team of 5+ Experience in hiring strategies and team retention You've run internal programs for growth and learning Experience building scalable platforms (you've owned & built features from start to finish before) Thorough knowledge of SDLC Extensive knowledge of any of Python, Go, NodeJS Working knowledge of frontend and mobile apps Expertise on any RDBMS or NoSQL databases Understands CI / CD pipelines Exposure to cloud providers like AWS, GCP or Azure Seen extensive scale and understands the evolutionary technical challenges Product-minded. You have a sense for great user experience and feel for when something is off. You love understanding customer pain points and solving for them. Get a lot done. You enjoy all aspects of building a product and are comfortable moving across the stack when necessary. You problem solve independently and enjoy figuring stuff out. High conviction. When you commit to something, you're in all the way. You're opinionated, but you know when to disagree and commit. Mediocrity is the worst of all possible outcomes.
