SAP Master Data Management Lead

Key Responsibilities :

1. Master Data Governance & Strategy :

• Define and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures for SAP master data.
• Lead the design and enforcement of master data models (e.g., material master, vendor, customer, finance objects).
• Establish master data KPIs and data quality metrics.

2. Data Quality Management :

Monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across SAP modules.

Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for data quality issues.

Lead master data cleansing and enrichment activities.

3. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration :

Lead and mentor a team of MDM analysts and coordinators.

Collaborate with business users, functional consultants, and technical teams to gather requirements and resolve issues.

Act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for SAP master data management in cross-functional projects.

4. System Implementation & Support :

Manage SAP MDM solutions, including configuration, workflows, and integration with other systems (e.g., non-SAP apps, data lakes).

Participate in SAP rollouts, upgrades, and migration projects (e.g., ECC to S / 4HANA).

Ensure compliance with data-related aspects of SOX, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.

5. Documentation & Training :

Create and maintain documentation for MDM processes, data dictionaries, and business rules.

Conduct training sessions for business users and data stewards.

Key Requirements :

Education :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.

Experience :

7–12 years of SAP experience, with at least 4+ years in a Master Data Management lead role.

Hands-on experience with SAP MDM, MDG (Master Data Governance), and Data Services tools.

Experience in S / 4HANA is highly preferred.

Skills :

Strong knowledge of SAP master data objects (material, vendor, customer, BOM, GL, cost center, etc.)

Expertise in data governance, validation rules, and approval workflows

Proficient in data profiling, cleansing tools, and reporting (SAP MDG, SAP Data Services, Excel, SQL)

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills

Preferred Attributes :

Exposure to large-scale SAP implementations or global data management programs

Experience with Agile project delivery and data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM)

Familiarity with integration tools (e.g., BODS, PI / PO, CPI) and third-party data platforms
