IT Infrastructure Manager Job Description
The IT infrastructure manager is responsible for overseeing the organisation's IT systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance.
This role requires strong technical expertise in server administration, network management, and system software maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Windows / Linux servers, Active Directory administration, and virtualization technologies such as VMware Hyper-V.
A successful IT infrastructure manager will be able to troubleshoot hardware and network issues promptly, administer and maintain virtualization platforms, and ensure security through access controls firewalls antivirus and data protection measures.
- Key Responsibilities :
- Install configure and maintain servers operating systems and applications.
- Monitor system performance and ensure availability reliability and security of IT systems.
- Manage user accounts permissions access rights and storage allocations.
- Perform regular system backups updates and disaster recovery operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system hardware and network issues promptly.
- Administer and maintain virtualization platforms VMware Hyper-V etc.
- Ensure security through access controls firewalls antivirus and data protection measures.
- Manage patch updates system upgrades and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to assist users with technical issues and system access.
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations changes and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
To succeed in this role, you should possess :
Strong knowledge of Windows / Linux servers and Active Directory administration.Experience with virtualization technologies VMware Hyper-V KVM.Familiarity with network administration TCP / IP DNS DHCP VPN firewalls.Knowledge of cloud platforms AWS Azure or Google Cloud is an advantage.Proficiency with backup and recovery tools and system monitoring software.Strong understanding of IT security practices and access management.Excellent troubleshooting analytical and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively under pressure.Benefits :
