The Strategic Procurement Buyer will be responsible for executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost optimization initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, negotiation expertise, and the ability to collaborate across functions to deliver value to the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

• Execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories to achieve cost savings and process efficiency.
• Conduct spend analysis and identify opportunities for supplier consolidation.
  
  

Supplier Relationship Management

• Manage supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Support supplier development initiatives to improve quality and reliability.
  
  

Contract Negotiation & Compliance

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to maximize value.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Zero based costing (ZBC) & ABC Cost analysis
  
  

Cost Optimization & Risk Management

• Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks proactively.
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Finance, Operations, and other teams to align procurement activities with business objectives.
• Support digital tools adoption for procurement efficiency.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in strategic sourcing or category management.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and procurement tools.
• Knowledge of global sourcing and sustainability practices is a plus.
  
  

Key Competencies

• Zero based costing
• Data Analysis & Reporting – Must have advance MS Office knowledge
• Preferred experience in commodities like Sheet metal / Machining / Chemicals / brought out component
• Hand on SAP
• Contracts and Risk Management
• Service related experience will give additional advantages
