Job Summary :
The Purchase Officer (Medical) will be responsible for managing the procurement process for medical equipment, instruments, and consumables for the institution. The role involves vendor management, negotiation, purchase planning, cost control, and ensuring timely supply of quality materials as per institutional standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers for medical equipment, instruments, and consumables.
Prepare purchase requests, obtain quotations, compare specifications, and finalize procurement as per institutional policies.
Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely supply.
Maintain updated records of purchases, pricing, inventory, and deliveries.
Coordinate with the accounts department for timely processing of purchase orders and payments.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and audit requirements.
Collaborate with the medical and administrative departments to assess material needs and specifications.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock optimization and replenishment.
Track warranty, AMC, and calibration schedules of medical equipment.
Prepare reports on procurement activities, vendor performance, and budget utilization.
Required Skills and Competencies :
Strong knowledge of medical procurement procedures and equipment specifications.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
