Job description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in AWS Cloud Development . This role is critical to both the development of new data products and the modernization of existing platforms.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned data engineer with hands-on experience designing, building, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and architectures in both on-premises (e.g., Oracle) and cloud environments (especially AWS). This individual will also serve as a Cloud Development expert , mentoring and guiding other data engineers as they enhance their cloud skillsets.

Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Architecture

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data products .
Develop and optimize ELT / ETL processes using a variety of tools and technologies.
Support and evolve data models that drive operational and analytical workloads.
Modernize legacy Oracle-based systems and migrate workloads to cloud-native platforms .

Cloud Development & DevOps (AWS-Focused)

Build, deploy, and manage cloud-native data solutions using AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena, Step Functions ).

Implement CI / CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security .

Ensure scalability, resilience, and compliance of AWS-based data platforms.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Partner with product managers, analysts, and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Contribute to the data platform modernization roadmap and support new product delivery.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in data engineering or equivalent technical role.

5+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud Development & DevOps experience.

Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and ETL / ELT pipelines .

Deep experience with Oracle (PL / SQL, performance tuning, data extraction) .

Proficiency in Python for data processing tasks.

Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (networking, security, cost optimization).

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) .

Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

Preferred (Nice to Have)

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Snowflake .

Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with modern orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, dbt).

Exposure to data cataloging, governance, and quality tools .
