Development, execution and support of insurance risk engineering primarily in India, followed by other areas in MEA and South Asia with the aim of Client acquisition and Client retention.
Grow the IGM (international Growth Markets) risk engineering organization in line with the Howden Global Risk Engineering strategy to support the Howden business effectively. This would be a long term goal and depends on various factors.
Execution and support of insurance risk engineering globally if needed, as directed by the Howden Global Head of Risk Engineering.
Collaborating with / advising our Clients, Brokers and Underwriters on risk quality and exposure.
On-site risk surveys and technical reviews of our clients' or prospective client's risk mitigation approaches and to provide clients with risk improvement suggestions.
Preparation of survey and other technical reports, technical reviews for various occupancies in line with the Howden global risk engineering protocols.
Review, interpreting and summarizing third party technical risk information and asset valuation reports.
Developing customer service plans, budget, coordinating field servicing, vendor management and interacting with the Broker, Client and Underwriter to serve and meet the needs of our customers.
Risk engineering / technical support / etc. to be executed in accordance with the Howden global risk engineering protocols.
Frequent travel locally and internationally
Requirements :
Graduate degree in Engineering disciplines; Power / Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering is preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant property risk engineering and risk management. This experience should include (not cumulative) :
Experience working with international organizations would be advantageous.
Expertise in property loss prevention and loss control for a broad range of industries and commercial businesses such as Powergen, steel, aluminum, general manufacturing, power, pharmaceutical, food, real estate, retail, warehousing, metal working, health care, hospitality, etc.
Strong understanding and expertise associated with Natural Catastrophe exposures – Earthquake / Flood / Windstorm / etc.
Knowledge of layout and construction, fire protection systems (sprinkler systems, alarm systems, etc.), machinery breakdown for Powergen occupancies and human element property conservation programs (e.g. Permit-To-Work, Management of Change)
Working knowledge of NFPA standards or similar Highly Protected Risk (HPR) standards.
Ability to develop estimated maximum loss (EML) and anticipated loss potential scenarios as per property insurance industry practices.
Link loss prevention expertise with loss experience to enable emerging loss trends analysis.
Experience in coordinating and managing a regional program.
Business sense, team player, customer commitment & service mind-set.
Experience writing professional or technical summaries for management / leadership review.
Good communication skills both oral and written in English.
Good report writing skills for risk management and technical reports.
Strong qualitative and quantitative skills.
Proficient in various software packages such as MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and other critical safety related software.
