Roles and Responsibilities :
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements.
- Conduct periodic audits-both internal and external-and ensure any audit findings are addressed.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws (corporate / income tax / indirect tax), prepare & file tax returns, and advise on tax planning.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with banking regulations, RBI / applicable central bank guidelines, and other statutory requirements (e.g., KYC / AML, Basel norms, etc.).
- Oversee treasury operations : manage liquidity, funding, interest rate risks, investments, and inter- bank transactions.
- Perform variance analysis between actuals vs budget / forecast, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
- Coordinate with internal audit, external auditors, and regulatory audit teams; ensure audit findings are addressed promptly.
- Maintain robust internal controls over financial transactions and accounting systems.
- Support pricing strategies, cost of funds, and treasury rate modelling.
- Manage taxation, statutory compliance, and disclosures relevant to banking operations.
- Provide support for financial risk management (credit risk, market risk, operational risk) including stress testing, scenario analysis.
Qualifications & Skills :
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)Minimum 10+ (or as relevant) experience in accounting / finance roles within the banking / financial services sector.Solid understanding of accounting standards (e.g. Ind AS, IFRS, or applicable local GAAP).Exposure to loan classification, NPA management, asset- liability management (ALM), interest rate risk, liquidity risk.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret complex financial data and generate actionable insights.Proficiency with accounting software / SAP systems; advanced skill in Excel (modelling, pivot tables).Good communication skills-both written and verbal-to present financial reports and liaise with regulatory / audit authorities.Preferred / Additional Attributes :
Experience working with large volume banking operations (multiple branches).Exposure to mergers, acquisitions or bank- restructuring projects.Certification / training in risk management or banking regulation (e.g., FRM, certifications from banking bodies.Familiarity with digital banking / fintech integrations / treasury front- office systems.Knowledge of software tools like SAP, Oracle, Tally, QuickBooks, etc.(ref : iimjobs.com)
