Job description

Procurement Role & Responsibilities

Material Planning

MRP based material scheduling & procurement for the location
Prepare a monthly sourcing plan with PR-PO processing to avoid shortages in Productions.
Purchase Order / Service Order creation, review and release
Coordinate with stores for timely receipt, proper storage, and accountability of materials

Inventory Management

Ensure adherence to working capital through Inventory norms

Quality of Inventory

Active co-ordination with Production Planning & Control

Regular communication & coordination with Vendors

Supplier & Vendor Management

Develop alternate vendors to reduce supply risks.

Registration of vendors

Ensure timely payments to suppliers / transporters by coordinating with finance and stores.

Conduct supplier visits for evaluations and supply chain issue resolution.

Handle disputes related to rejection / blocked stock with suppliers & internal lab teams.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Work with Planning, Manufacturing, Purchase, and Import logistics teams.

Ensure compliance with safety norms (Saint-Gobain guidelines) while dealing with suppliers.

Co-ordinate RM-related issues with Stores & Production (shelf-life tracking).

Procurement & Cost Management

Plan and procure fuel efficiently.

Support negotiations and cost-saving projects with category purchasers.

Transportation / Logistics Cost control

Manage new RM procurement per R&D requirements.

System & Process Knowledge

Have expertise in SAP & SAP interface systems.

Work on improvement projects to improve P2P efficiency using SAP and interfacing digital tools such as RPA, Visibility dashboards etc.
