Job description

We’re Hiring : Mechanical Design Engineer

Location : Pune, Maharashtra

Experience : 2–5 years

At Attron Automotive, we design and manufacture advanced electric motors and controllers for EV, agritech, and industrial applications.

We are looking for a Mechanical Motor Design Engineer with strong experience in motor manufacturing, casing, shaft, and IP-proof design to join our core R&D team in Pune.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop motor housings, end covers, shafts, and bearing assemblies ensuring high mechanical robustness.
  • Engineer IP67 / IP69K-rated enclosures — sealing, waterproofing, and pressure balancing design.
  • Perform structural, thermal, and vibration simulations
  • Conduct tolerance analysis, interference / press-fit checks, and rotor balancing for high-speed rotating parts.
  • Collaborate with electromagnetic, electronics, and manufacturing teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and ease of assembly.
  • Create detailed 2D drawings, GD&T, and BOMs for production release.
  • Support prototype builds and resolve fitment, sealing, and vibration issues in actual motors.

Required Skills

  • Mandatory experience in the motor manufacturing industry (EV, industrial, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of PMSM motor construction and assembly.
  • Hands-on experience in motor casing and shaft design, including bearing selection and fits.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for modeling and detailing.
  • Knowledge of IP sealing (O-rings, gaskets, potting) and thermal management of housings.
  • Familiarity with machining, casting, and tolerance control for production components.

    • Qualification

  • B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Design Engineering.
