Job Description : Manager Sales & Applications

Location : Alindra, Savli GIDC, Vadodara, Gujarat

Department : Sales & Applications

Reports to : Managing Director

Employment Type : Full-Time / Permanent

Role Summary :

The Manager Sales & Applications will oversee all sales and technical application activities, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and the delivery of effective technical solutions while maintaining the organizations high standards for customer satisfaction, quality, and efficiency. This role is pivotal in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing application projects, and driving continuous improvement in sales and application support processes.

Key Responsibilities :

Sales & Application Planning & Execution :

  • Lead weekly planning and execution of sales and application activities as per business targets.
  • Ensure all customer inquiries, quotations, and technical proposals are processed promptly and accurately.
  • Coordinate with production, SCM, and design teams to ensure timely delivery and optimal technical solutions.

Technical Support & Application Engineering :

  • Provide technical support to customers and the sales team, including product selection, sizing, and application engineering.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, trials, and presentations to customers as required.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Team Leadership :

  • Supervise and mentor sales and application staff, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
  • Conduct daily briefings and ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities.
  • Promote discipline, teamwork, and a customer-centric approach within the department.
  • Process Optimization :

  • Identify bottlenecks and implement best practices to improve sales conversion rates and application support.
  • Monitor KPIs such as order intake, application turnaround time, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve operational challenges and enhance customer experience.
  • ERP & Reporting :

  • Use SAP Business One HANA (or equivalent ERP) to track sales orders, application projects, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales and application activities and submit weekly / monthly reports.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and / or application engineering, preferably in manufacturing or process equipment.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, technical application methodologies, and customer relationship management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Preferred Attributes :

  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with industrial sales and technical application best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
