Quality Assurance Automation Engineer - Selenium / Cucumber / Playwright Testing

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and open-source tools to ensure product quality.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks supporting functional, regression, and sanity test suites.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand product features and user stories for effective test planning.
• Execute automated and manual test cases and analyze results to identify defects and areas for improvement.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation and backend testing (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Manage defect lifecycle and test progress using JIRA in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Prepare comprehensive test plans, strategies, and scenarios based on business requirements.
• Conduct user story demos and obtain sign-offs from business stakeholders.
• Provide strong manual testing expertise including functional, regression, sanity, and black-box testing.
• Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders to gather requirements and provide status updates.
• Participate actively in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to continuously improve testing Skills & Qualifications :
• Hands-on experience in Automation Testing using Selenium, Cucumber, and Playwright.
• Proficient in Java (Java 8 or later preferred) for writing UI automation scripts.
• Strong experience in SQL and database testing with PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB.
• Good knowledge of HCM applications and Payroll management tools is highly desirable.
• Experience in API testing using Postman.
• Strong background in manual testing : functional, regression, sanity, and black-box testing.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum framework and tools such as JIRA.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with multiple stakeholders.
• Proven experience in test planning, strategy formulation, and execution.
• Ability to run sanity, functional, and regression test suites Qualifications :
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience working in enterprise HR and payroll domains.
• Certification in ISTQB or other relevant quality assurance methodologies is a plus
