Assistant Manager - Sales (Ocean Freight)
Role Overview
We are looking for a results-driven Assistant Manager Sales (Ocean Freight) to expand our
business in the freight forwarding and logistics sector.
The role involves identifying new opportunities, managing client relationships, driving revenue growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction in the ocean freight domain.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs)
- Drive sales for ocean freight services and achieve assigned revenue targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key accounts.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the ocean freight segment.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers to close profitable deals.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of shipments.
- Conduct market analysis to track competitor activities and emerging trends.
- Generate accurate sales reports, forecasts, and business development plans.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and resolve client issues promptly.
- Represent the company in client meetings, networking events, and industry forums.
Required Skillsets
Proven experience in sales within the ocean freight / logistics industry.Strong understanding of international shipping, Incoterms, and ocean freight operations.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Ability to develop long-term customer relationships and manage key accounts.Strong business development and market penetration skills.Analytical mindset with ability to interpret sales data and trends.Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and sales reporting.Self-motivated, target-oriented, and able to work under pressure.Master's / Bachelors degree in Business, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field(ref : iimjobs.com)
