Role Summary
As a Senior Python Developer, you will collaborate with a team of skilled professionals, including offshore software development teams for Vodafone in India and the UK. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining powerful Python-based applications utilizing the latest industry trends and technologies. This is a senior hands-on technical role, requiring leadership and mentoring abilities, strong solution architecture experience, and a passion for innovative software engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Architect, design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Python-based applications using Flask or Django frameworksLead code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure high standards of code quality and securityMentor junior developers, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional growthTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software issues throughout the development lifecycleIntegrate, optimize, and manage relational databases such as SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQLCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, QA, and Business Analysts, to gather requirements and deliver business-focused solutionsStay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and advocate for process improvementsDocument system designs, development processes, and operational proceduresParticipate in technical interviews, talent reviews, and help to onboard new team membersContribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making for enterprise solutionsEnsure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Vodafone’s and the client’s digital transformation goalsRequired Skills and Experience
Minimum 7+ years of professional IT experience with significant hands-on Python developmentExpertise in Flask or Django frameworks for web application developmentStrong experience with relational databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) , including database design and optimizationKnowledge of Azure Functions and deployment in cloud environmentsProven track record in designing and architecting scalable software solutionsExperience mentoring and leading junior team members in collaborative environmentsProficient in version control platforms (e.g., Git), CI / CD tools, API design, and RESTful servicesSolid understanding of software development methodologies, especially Agile or ScrumExcellent troubleshooting, debugging, and documentation skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills , comfortable leading discussions with client stakeholdersBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldPreferred Skills
Familiarity with basic Linux commands and shell scriptingExperience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, React, Angular) is a plusExposure to microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or DevOps practicesWhy Join Us
