Job description
  • Design & drive and effectively manage Policy Advocacy & Corporate Affairs Strategy for the Energy Sector.
  • Identify, map and forge close relationships with key government officials, bureaucrats, and regulatory authorities, who are crucial to achieve company s business objectives.
  • Resolve various pending / fresh regulatory / compliance / legal issues by effective management with internal & external Stakeholders, effective liaisoning, strong advocacy and smooth relationship management.
  • Carry out detailed impact analysis of policy & regulatory changes on the business & make presentations to stakeholders, thereby influencing policy & regulatory decisions of Govt & regulatory authorities.
  • Support PPA Management Function in realizing the receivables from DISCOMS by working closely with the DISCOM Officials.
  • Work as Brand Ambassador for GMR Group. Provide analytical support to CEOs, CXOs & Business Chairman in making high impact decisions.
  • Constantly update the senior management about the changes in the regulatory & policy impacting business.

    Developing Policy Advocacy & Corporate Affairs Strategy for Energy Business in co-ordination with Business Leaders & Group CA leaders

    Develop PA & CA Strategies for addressing the Policy & Regulatory issues of the Energy Business in coordination with CEOs, CXOs & Business Chairman Office.

    Jointly in discussion with senior members of Group Corporate Affairs finalise the Corporate Affairs Strategy for the Energy Business in sync with the Group CA Strategy.

    Achieving desired outcomes in policy & regulatory domain for the Energy Business

    Understanding regulatory and policy bottle necks and new developments impacting Energy Business and suggesting changes in the policy framework to overcome them.

    In depth understanding of the Regulatory, policy issues in Energy Sector which adversely impact business outcomes and come out with solutions to address them.

    Make presentations to Business Chairman, CEOs, CXOs, HODs on the suggested policy and regulators changes to overcome these bottlenecks and and refining these solutions with their inputs.

    Representations to Regulators,Ministry Officials, Govt Officials on the suggested regulatory, policy changes and influence decisions.

    Early warning, information to business about policy, regulatory developments , changes so that working jointly with business team, we can be put in a favourable position and can actively participate in such change instead of reacting to it

    Achieving desired outcomes in policy & regulatory domain for the Energy Business

    Policy Advocacy

    Drive key advocacy initiatives with large and long-term impact to GMR Energy / industry interests

    Get clear results from issues that are deeply affecting our businesses through various measures that suits Advocacy

    Ensure with all data points and back-end documents to get favourable orders from CERC and APTEL, Ministries of Power, Coal, Environment, New & Renewable Energy etc

    Drive the policy, regulatory, business and related advocacy matters of GMR Energy Group with government entities, regulatory bodies and / or private entities

    Draft and submit focussed Presentations / notes / letters / papers to Ministries, Industry associations like APP, FICCI to ensure our long-term objectives are being considered in the Policies of the concerned Ministries.

    Carry out the process of due diligence to proactively identify potential risk situations and ensure their timely and effective neutralization

    Obtaining intelligence inputs on key actions of all major players,competitors in energy sector and their action, interest areas in terms of policy intervention , key issues affecting them all in a way to help business learn from the same, take proactive measures to address any impact as also measure performance against them in such areas

    Supporting PPA Management Function for managing the receivables from DISCOMS

    Support the PPA Management Team critically to realise the receivables due the business from different DISCOMs.

    Develop effective relationship and operating procedure for effective interaction / intervention at discoms, state level for smooth & timely payment realisation

    Capability to work effectively with lean team is essential. Ability to influence non reporting relationships in the organization is a must.

    Proven ability in developing & sustaining productive & mutually enriching relationships within & outside organization is a must for the incumbent.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

    BE / B.Tech from a reputed college. MBA will be an added advantage

    RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

    20-25 years of experience in Power Sector with at least 8-10 years experience in Policy Advocacy / Regulatory / Business Development / Corporate Affairs.

    Thorough knowledge of the energy sector and power business
