An SAP ABAP HR practitioner entails designing, developing, and supporting ABAP programs and reports for the SAP Employee Central Payroll module . Responsibilities include gathering business requirements, creating technical specifications, performing unit testing, resolving issues, providing ongoing support, and collaborating with functional HR teams. Key technical skills involve ABAP programming, HR-specific function modules, custom reports (RICEF objects), infotypes, and potentially of performing SAML, SSO and other technical config for EC to ECP integration.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business users and functional consultants to understand HR business requirements.
Design and develop custom ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, infotypes, and forms to meet these requirements.
Create and maintain detailed technical specifications and documentation for all developed objects.
Perform unit and integration testing, debug existing code, and ensure high code quality and adherence to development standards.
Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshoot issues in the SAP HR system, and resolve customer inquiries.
Develop and debug PTP integrations between SF Employee Central and Employee Central payroll
Strong proficiency in SAP ABAP programming, including HR-specific function modules (e.g., HR_READ_INFOTYPE), and logical databases (e.g., PNP / PNPCE) and SAML, SSO.
Proven experience with SAP HCM module configuration and customization, including infotypes and extensions using user exits or BAPIs.
Experience in developing Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and functional teams.
