About Our Client

Our client is a large organization in the property, retail and real estate development sector. They have a significant presence in India and are known for their high-quality projects and commitment to sustainable development.

They are looking to hire a Deputy GC to manage majorly their Non- litigation work and litigation advisory.

Job Description

The role will report into the General Counsel and will manage large team spread across India.

The incumbent will be responsible for :

• Providing strategic legal advice to the management team.
• Overseeing all corporate affairs, including governance, compliance, and risk management.
• Managing relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
• Ensuring the company's legal obligations are met.
• Representing the company in legal proceedings.
• Liaising with stakeholders in the property and real estate development industry.
• Overseeing all company secretarial activities.
• Work Areas : Retail leasing, Commercial Contracts, Litigation Advisory, M&A and fund raising.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Deputy GC' should have :

• LLB from a recognized university.
• A degree in Company secretary would be an add on (preferred)
• At least 15+ years of experience in Real estate sector
• A strong understanding of the property and real estate development sector.
• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and listening skills.
• A high level of integrity and professionalism.
• The ability to manage a large legal team
• Great network in the law firm space
• Worked with large teams at different level of their career.
