Landscape Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Architect to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of experience in planning, designing, and delivering landscape projects that blend functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. This role requires a strong design sensibility, technical proficiency, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop landscape concepts for residential, commercial, institutional, and public projects.

Prepare landscape plans, sections, planting schemes, and detailed working drawings.

Collaborate with architects, urban planners, engineers, and clients to integrate landscape designs with broader project objectives.

Conduct site analysis, including ecological, environmental, and cultural studies to inform design decisions.

Oversee project implementation, conduct site visits, and ensure design intent is maintained during construction.

Select appropriate materials, plants, and sustainable systems for projects.

Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and assist in project management.

Stay updated on trends in sustainable landscape design, native planting, and environmental stewardship.

Confer with clients, engineers, and building architects to understand a project

Prepare site plans, specifications, and cost estimates

Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures

Prepare graphic representations of proposed plans using computer-aided design and drafting software

Select appropriate materials for use in landscape designs

Analyze environmental reports on land conditions, such as drainage and energy usage

Inspect landscape work to ensure that it adheres to original plans

Seek new work through marketing or by giving presentations

Design skills and strong ability to motivate & manage a team of architects and draughtsman

Construction documents

Design, management, and production of drawings for projects of different scales and different stages in the design process

Compilation of targeted project research and analysis into text documents and / or design solutions - Preparation of and the ability to give verbal, visual, and oral presentations to clients, municipal staff and boards, community members, etc.

Preparation of proposals, contracts, and cost estimates for upcoming projects

Preparation of building permit applications, Site Plan Review, SEQR documentation

Demonstrated ability in Site Planning and Design, Design Detail

Required Qualifications

A professional Landscape Architecture degree; B.Arch / M.Arch

3–4 years of professional experience in landscape design and project delivery.

Strong understanding of planting design, hardscape detailing, grading, and drainage systems.

Knowledge of sustainable landscape practices and local flora.

Excellent visualization, presentation, design, organization, time management, written and communication skills.

Ability to handle a team of 4-5 people

Coordination between clients and consultant teams Creating innovative designs & presentations

Software Proficiency

AutoCAD to create site, layout, landscape, and detail plan sheets.

Microsoft Word to write professional memos and other documents

Adobe In Design to create presentations, submission packages, documents, etc.

Google Sketch Up to create site models, rendering, etc.

Microsoft Excel to create budget spreadsheets, plant lists, etc.

Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator to create renderings, diagrams, etc.
