Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior VMWare Consultant to lead a comprehensive remote assessment of a clients virtual infrastructure.

This role is critical in delivering actionable insights to support decisions around contract renewals, hardware lifecycle management, workload optimization, and infrastructure planning.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMWare environments, strong analytical skills, and experience with infrastructure diagnostics and optimization tools.

Experience with public cloud is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct a full equipment lifecycle analysis of physical hosts and virtual machines.
Evaluate Nutanix systems for hardware / software inventory and support status.
Perform physical and logical location mapping of virtualized infrastructure.
Analyze application behavior, usage patterns, and bandwidth consumption.
Execute VMWare right-sizing assessments to optimize resource allocation.
Utilize HP Cloud Physics for remote diagnostics, inventory, and scenario modeling.
Deliver a detailed, data-driven report with recommendations for :
Infrastructure efficiency improvements.
Cost reduction opportunities.
Cloud migration potential.
Future investment planning.

Critical Qualifications :

Proven experience in VMWare vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration.

Strong understanding of virtualization architecture, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

Experience with Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure.

Proficiency in remote diagnostics tools, especially HP Cloud Physics.

Ability to interpret and analyze system logs, performance metrics, and application behavior.

Familiarity with network topology mapping and infrastructure documentation.

Expected Experience :

Overall 15+ years with 7+ years of hands-on experience in VMWare engineering and infrastructure assessment.

Demonstrated success in remote-only infrastructure evaluations.

Experience working with mid-sized environments (e.g., 50+ VMs, 10+ physical hosts).

Prior involvement in cloud readiness assessments and cost optimization projects.

Skills & Competencies :

Analytical mindset with a focus on efficiency and optimization.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.

Proficient in documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Excel, PowerPoint).

Desirable Qualifications :

VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) or higher certification.

Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or equivalent strong understanding.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid environments.

Familiarity with ITIL practices and infrastructure lifecycle management.

Strong technical writing skills for producing assessment reports and recommendations.
