About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Due Diligence Underwriters to join our growing team in Chennai. The role is critical to ensuring the integrity and compliance of the mortgage lending process. You will be responsible for analyzing borrower financials, reviewing loan applications, assessing property valuations, and ensuring adherence to both internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Application Review :
- Analyze and verify mortgage loan applications to ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Assess borrower profiles including credit history, employment, income, and existing debt obligations.
- Validate property values through appraisal reports and alternative valuation tools.
Credit & Financial Analysis :
Review credit reports to determine borrower creditworthiness.Analyze financial statements, tax returns, pay stubs, and other supporting income documents.Accurately calculate Debt-to-Income (DTI) and Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios.Property Valuation Review :
Evaluate appraisal reports and alternative value products for compliance with client requirements.Ensure property valuations are reliable and accurate.Compliance & Risk Assessment :
Ensure all loans comply with federal, state, and local mortgage regulations .Follow company policies, investor guidelines, and client-specific requirements.Identify potential risks and assess the overall risk profile of mortgage applications.Essential Skills & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, or a related field.Prior experience in mortgage underwriting, processing, or due diligence (minimum 6 months).Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices .Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.Proficiency in mortgage processing software, Excel, and financial tools.Good communication skills (written & verbal) to interact with internal stakeholders and clients.Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment .Certification in mortgage underwriting or related areas will be an added advantage.Why Join Us
