Deputy Head - Accounts & Finance

Job Summary :

The Deputy Head Finance plays a critical role in managing the financial aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, ensuring that budgets are allocated efficiently and effectively in alignment with organizational guidelines and strategic priorities. This role requires a deep understanding of financial frameworks, principles of budget allocation, and a focus on driving maximum value from every CSR investment. The Deputy Head – Accounts & Finance is responsible for implementing a robust financial strategy that supports organizational goals while maintaining financial discipline, transparency, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities :

Framework & Principles of Allocation : Understand and apply the framework and principles of budget allocation based on established guidelines and need assessments. Ensure that all allocations are justifiable and aligned with the strategic goals of the organisation.

Budget Allocation for CSR Projects : Oversee and manage the allocation of budgets for CSR projects, ensuring that funds are distributed in accordance with organizational priorities.

Needs Assessment & Strategic Alignment : Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to determine the financial requirements of various projects, ensuring that the funds allocated address the defined needs and align with corporate objectives.

Cost Optimization & Efficiency : Focus on cost optimization within projects by analyzing spending patterns and suggesting improvements to increase the overall efficiency of resource allocation without compromising the quality and effectiveness of the initiatives.

Financial Performance Monitoring : Continuously monitor and review the financial performance of instutional partnership and projects, ensuring that the allocated budget is being spent efficiently, and making adjustments as necessary to maximize value and impact.

Value Management : Implement graded value management practices to maximize the impact of every investment. Focus on driving 10X value for every rupee spent by ensuring resource allocation yields measurable, high-impact results.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration : Work closely with key internal stakeholders (Senior management, and project leads) and external partners (ICICI Bank and Group Companies to ensure optimum financial Planning of CSR funds.

Impact Measurement & Reporting : Implement systems to measure and report on the financial and social impact of CSR projects. Provide detailed insights to senior management on the return on investment (ROI) for CSR initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate values and objectives.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight : Ensure that all financial processes related to CSR projects adhere to relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements. Maintain thorough documentation of all allocations, expenses, and outcomes for transparency and accountability.

Budget Planning & Forecasting : Lead the process of CSR budget planning and forecasting, ensuring that future financial needs are anticipated and adequately supported. Collaborate with other departments to integrate CSR financial planning with overall organizational financial strategies.

Continuous Improvement : Suggest and implement process improvements for CSR project budgeting and financial management. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and new frameworks for CSR budget allocation to continuously enhance financial management and validation of executed projects. Process automation and digitisation for enhanced efficiency.

Risk Management : Identify potential risks associated with CSR budget allocation and implement strategies to mitigate these risks. Monitor project financials to ensure judicious and timely budget utilisation.

Requirements :

Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is preferable, with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in financial management, budget allocation, and CSR experience would be an added advantage.
