Job Title : Lead Data Engineer

Location : Remote

Experience : 7+

About the Role :

We are looking for a hands-on Lead Data Engineer to help optimize and maintain our ETL pipelines and data infrastructure. You’ll work with analysts, engineers, and leadership to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient data workflows that support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.

Responsibilities :

Manage and improve ETL pipelines on GCP (BigQuery, GCS, Dataprep / Dataflow)
Enhance modularity, reusability, and error handling in workflows
Introduce lightweight data governance practices
Support development of a semantic layer for consistent metrics
Collaborate with analysts to structure data for dashboards and reporting
Mentor team members, document processes, and review code
Participate in hiring and team standardization efforts

Requirements :

7+ years in data engineering

Strong GCP skills (BigQuery, GCS, Dataprep / Dataflow)

Proficient in SQL and Python

Experience building and maintaining production ETL pipelines

Familiar with version control and task orchestration (Airflow or equivalent)

Good communication and teamwork skills

Nice-to-Have :

Experience with data governance, semantic layers (dbt, LookML)

Exposure to AI / ML workflows

Knowledge of marketing or media datasets

Experience mentoring junior engineers
