Our goals are to constantly improve through Flawless Execution, maintaining Available Capacity, fostering Engaged Rackers, becoming Increasingly Efficient & building a Rock Solid Foundation.We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer-IV who will be responsible for the planning, design, configuration, integration & installation of our growing local area network (LAN) and / or global wide area network (WAN). The Network Engineer-IV will provide leadership in technical support and documentation to various departments and users with regards to the global infrastructure. The Network Engineer-IV serves as a liaison to gather network requirements from internal customers, vendors and other third-party providers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
DESIGN :Perform design requirements feasibility studiesPerform vendor recommendation / selection and coordination for hardware testing and installationsExamine theoretical and implemented designs for deficiencies and facilitate correctionsBUILD :Prepare maintenance plan documentation & change managementExamine maintenance plans for accuracyScript maintenance implementationsWork in either a lead role or assisting role during maintenance implementationsIMPROVEMENTS :Develop Standard Operating Procedure’s (SOP’s) & Method of Procedure’s (MOP’s)Develop network standardization practicesDocument informational content for specialized network designs to be used for training needsPresent and / or Train on new network typologies, hardware and technologies to internal teamsLead Root Cause Analysis sessions to achieve better networking practicesDetermine baseline requirements for our network needsProvide code analysis on existing software, IOS testing and software recommendationsCreate network lab mockups for error testingAutomate repetitive Engineering tasksADDITIONAL :Act as 4th level escalations POC for design or other related problemsConduct provider testing / deployment of new servicesMonitor capacity and plan for bandwidth additionsEstablish project priority based on business needsREQUIREMENTS :
- Expert level experience working with all of the following technologies / applications : MPLS, BGP, LDP, QoS, IPv6, OSPF, vPC , STP, DWDM, EVPN, L2VPN, MPLS VPN, L3VPN, FHRP, VLAN, CDP, port-channels, IS-IS, MPLS Inter-AS, VXLAN, DNS, ACL, RADb, Flowspec, RTBH, GitHub, API’s, NFV, Hypervisors, virtual switching
- Multi- vendor experience working with the following platforms : Cisco IOS, ASR 1k (IOS-XE), ASR NCS (IOS-XR), Nexus (NX-OS), Arista (EOS), Junos
- Industry recognized certifications : CCNA required, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP preferred, CCIE (R&S, SP or DC) highly preferred (or equivalent experience), Python PCEP
- Minimum 7-10 years recent experience with network design and build-out of LAN / WAN’s and / or large-scale network retrofits and remediation’s
- Experience working in service provider, datacenter / hosting environment or large-scale enterprise networks.
- Experience researching, evaluating and recommending hardware and / or software solutions supporting large scale deployments and / or remediation’s against the LAN / WAN
- Experience working with 3rd party networking vendors with an understanding of the service / hardware / software portfolios they provide
- Able to identify areas of process improvement and provide input and solution options to streamline work
- Excellent writing, documentation and communication skills possessing the ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical peers.
- Customer service-oriented attitude
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, 24x7x365 coverage, including holidays and weekends
- Experience with network service monitoring systems (Arbor, Zenoss, Syslog, SolarWinds, Splunk, Kibana, WhatsUpGold, etc…)
- High School diploma or equivalent required; University or College degree preferred in the Computer Science or Network Engineering fields.
HIGHLY DESIRED :
- History designing, coding, implementing, and supporting Infrastructure / Operations-side automation solutions in a corporate environment.
- Experience and familiarity with Python and / or Ruby
- Experience with Linux system administration
- Experience and familiarity with Git, Ansible, Jenkins, Splunk
- Contributor to open source network management software projects
- Experience with various open source OS
- Experience with Lab network modeling
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolution of network issues
