Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of mechanical systems and products.

• Design mechanical components and systems for new products and systems, meeting specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements.
• Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) to create 3D models and technical drawings.
• Perform calculations, simulations, and stress analysis to guarantee mechanical systems function reliably under operational conditions.
• Develop prototypes and conduct testing to validate designs before full-scale production.
• Oversee prototype construction and perform hands-on testing to validate mechanical designs.
• Conduct failure analysis, stress testing, and material testing to evaluate performance and durability of components.
• Iterate on designs based on test results, ensuring continuous improvement in product quality and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are feasible for production and cost-effective.
• Assist material selection, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques to optimize product performance.
• Review production processes and ensure mechanical systems meet specifications and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for product improvements or cost reductions in both design and manufacturing processes.
• Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts for production or design-related issues.
• Apply Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to improve mechanical processes and reduce waste.
• Work with electrical engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design compatibility and seamless integration with other systems.
• Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to source materials, components, and tools for production.
• Communicate effectively to ensure product requirements are understood and met throughout the lifecycle.
• Maintain thorough documentation of designs, changes, and testing results to ensure proper record-keeping and compliance with industry standards.
• Evaluate designs against regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, CE marking).
• Provide support for product certifications, audits, and compliance activities as needed.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure milestones are met and deliverables are completed on schedule.
• Prepare project reports and present updates to senior management on progress, risks, and opportunities.
