• Patient Assessment : Conduct thorough evaluations of patients with cataracts to determine the severity of the condition and assess their overall eye health
• Surgical Planning : Develop surgical plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, taking into account factors such as the type of cataract, visual acuity, and other ocular conditions
• Surgical Procedure : Perform cataract surgery, which typically involves making small incisions in the eye, breaking up the cloudy lens using techniques like phacoemulsification, and implanting an artificial IOL
• Intraoperative Decision-Making : Make critical decisions during surgery, such as selecting the appropriate IOL and ensuring the precise removal of the cataract
• Postoperative Care : Provide postoperative care, including monitoring patients for complications, prescribing medications, and educating them on post-surgery precautions
• Collaborative Care : Work closely with optometrists and other eye care professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients
• Continuous Education : Stay updated on the latest advancements in cataract surgery techniques, technology, and medical guidelines
• Patient Communication : Explain the surgical process, potential risks, benefits, and expected outcomes to patients and their families
