Job Purpose :
To establish, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in line with ISO and industry standards for brass manufacturing. Ensure consistent product quality, compliance with customer requirements, and continual process improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- QMS Implementation & Maintenance : Develop, implement, and monitor QMS policies, procedures, and documentation as per ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards.
- Process Control : Ensure process audits, inspections, and corrective actions are carried out to maintain quality in brass production processes.
- Internal & External Audits : Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal audits; facilitate external audits (certification, customer, or regulatory).
- Customer Quality Assurance : Address customer complaints, coordinate root cause analysis, and implement corrective / preventive actions (CAPA).
- Training & Awareness : Conduct QMS training and awareness sessions for employees at all levels to foster a culture of quality.
- Continuous Improvement : Drive initiatives for reducing defects, improving yield, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Compliance & Reporting : Ensure adherence to statutory, regulatory, and customer-specific quality requirements; prepare management review reports.
Key Skills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949 (preferred), and other quality standards.Understanding of brass material properties, machining, casting, and finishing processes.Analytical skills with proficiency in root cause analysis, FMEA, SPC, and problem-solving tools.Excellent documentation, communication, and audit-handling skills.Leadership and team management capability.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering.Certification in QMS / ISO lead auditor preferred.7–10 years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role, preferably in brass or metal components manufacturing.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :
Effective implementation of ISO / QMS across the plant.Reduction in customer complaints and internal rejections.Successful completion of audits with minimal non-conformities.Improvement in process efficiency and quality yield.Timely reporting and corrective / preventive action closures.Primary Internal Interactions :
Production, Maintenance, R&D, Supply Chain, Stores, and HR departments.Primary External Interactions :
Customers, Certification Bodies, Regulatory Authorities, Vendors, and External Auditors.Skills Required
