About the Role :

We are looking for a dynamic and visionary Data Engineering Leader to help build and scale our Data Practice. This leadership role is ideal for someone with deep technical expertise, strong delivery acumen, and a passion for driving data-led transformation in the banking & financial services domain.

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for shaping the data engineering strategy, leading high-impact client engagements, and building a world-class team. You will also play a pivotal role in developing reusable frameworks, accelerators, and best practices to strengthen our offerings and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

Client Engagement & Solutioning

  • Engage with banking & financial services clients to understand business priorities, regulatory requirements, and data challenges.
  • Define solution architectures, roadmaps, and proposals aligned with client objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client executives, translating complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Ensure all data solutions are compliant with industry regulations (e.g., PCI, GDPR, RBI, ISO).

Delivery Leadership

  • Lead the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms and pipelines.
  • Drive delivery excellence across engagements—ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Establish best practices for data governance, observability, lineage, and quality.
  • Enable mission-critical use cases such as fraud detection, risk modeling, personalization, and regulatory reporting.

    • Practice & Capability Building

  • Build and scale a high-performing data engineering team with expertise in cloud, big data, and financial services.
  • Develop standardized frameworks, accelerators, and playbooks to accelerate delivery.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends (e.g., data mesh, GenAI, AI-driven data ops) and integrate them into offerings.
  • Collaborate with sales, pre-sales, and solution architects to support business development.

    • Team & People Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and grow top talent in data engineering and architecture.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, customer-centricity, and accountability.
  • Build succession plans and develop future leaders within the practice.

    • Skills & Experience Required :

  • 15+ years of experience in data / software engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale data platforms in financial services, banking, or payments.
  • Strong client-facing experience, including solutioning, delivery leadership, and stakeholder management.
  • Hands-on expertise in cloud and big data ecosystems : AWS / GCP / Azure, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake / Redshift, Delta Lake, Airflow, Kubernetes.
  • Deep understanding of financial data domains : customer, payments, fraud, credit, risk, regulatory.
  • Demonstrated success in cost optimization, platform modernization, and compliance-driven systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence to engage with CxO-level stakeholders.
