JOB SUMMARY : Data Network L3
This is a client facing role operating out of Cognizants India facilities preferably in Coimbatore / Noida. The role requires a highly accomplished Infrastructure Architect who can define architectural standards and govern ongoing compliance with the standards. The Infrastructure Architect shall provide technology expertise to Head of Infrastructure in identifying risks within the infrastructure estate, proposing remediation measures, commissioning and steering programme delivery and service acceptance from a technology standpoint.
The Infrastructure Architect needs to be strong in technology but also needs to be comfortable in working within geographically, culturally and technologically diverse teams and is able to create, validate and sign off high level and low level design documents for Infrastructure services within the technology ecosystem.
The role can be broad, and candidates must be flexible such that can thrive on a working in a heterogenous environment and are required to interact with architecture community such as Network Architect, End User Services Architect, and application architects in areas such as architecture, performance engineering, deployment design, security, systems management but always leveraging core technology experience.
The role requires strategic thinking and planning. The infrastructure Architect will also be contributing to the creation of Technology roadmap for the clients business planning period typically 3-5 year cycle.
MAIN DUTIES :
- Captures technical requirements and defines the infrastructure architectures and high-level solution designs and oversees the implementation of these solution designs.
- Assure configuration and implementation of programmes aligns with the solution designs in support of cross-functional business needs.
- Oversee product configuration, implementation, and support. To advise on best practice to achieve high levels of business satisfaction.
- Co-ordinate infrastructure architectures and high-level designs in conjunction with external partners, Operations, other Cognizant and Client teams, Project Management, and business representatives.
- Drive product evaluation and selection of new infrastructure products to meet strategic business initiatives. This may include project activities from proof-of-concepts, production deployment and handover to operations.
- Establish the overall system architecture documentation and implement standards and guidelines that guide the design and technology solutions, in collaboration with the Head of Infrastructure, Head of End User Services, Application Architect(s), Enterprise Architect, Business Architect, Solution Architect and Information Security Officer.
- To assist Head of Infrastructure in identifying risks, and issues to ensure timely completion / resolution of the identified Risks and Issues.
- Attend Project team meetings and feedback on architecture and design progress, product updates and road maps.
- Assist Sourcing Performance Management to ensure the Service teams deliver on SLAs and track progress on open requests for information and enhancements.
- Evaluate technologies to determine strengths and weaknesses in architecture, implementation, and suitability. Makes recommendations consistent with the vision of the business.
- Deliver technology functionality that meets technical, quality, and financial standards.
- Left shifting Level 1 and Level 1.5 task to Smart Ops by creating knowledge articles and conducting regular training.
- Contributing in BlueBolt ideas, executing ideas into automation for reducing manual efforts
- Participating in troubleshooting P1 / P2 bridges and available as per on-call roster
- Working towards problem management tickets resolution and p-task closure as per SLA
- Managing ServiceNow ITSM queues as per SLA
- Ensuring all infrastructure components gets monitored via Smart Ops

Relevant Experience : :
Results-driven Network L3 Engineer with 6+ years of comprehensive experience in IT infrastructure architecture, network design, and solution delivery across diverse platforms. Proficient in managing and optimizing complex environments using FortiGate, Meraki, HP, and Cisco switching technologies, with a proven track record of aligning technical strategies with organizational goals.Adept at translating technical solutions into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience in dealing with multiple Monitoring toolsProven experience and understanding of architecture principles across infrastructure platforms, security, data, integration, and applications layersExperience designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutionsKnowledge of client-server networking and Network managementExperience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practicesEngineered advanced support workflows to accelerate incident triage and resolutionStrong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new :Significant experience in DC-to-DC migrations and DC-Cloud migrationsKnowledge of LAN and WAN technologiesWorking knowledge of at least one of Azure / AWS cloud servicesExecuted complex network changes with structured risk assessments and rollback plansEnsured adherence to compliance frameworks (ITIL, ISO / IEC) in all support protocolsTechnical Skills : :
