Role Overview :
We're seeking a hands-on QA Lead who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining quality standards across our products. You'll lead a team of QA engineers, define testing strategies, and work closely with development teams to ensure we deliver high-quality software. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-6 QA engineers
- Conduct regular 1 : 1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new QA team members
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement
2. Strategic Planning & Process
Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies and best practicesDefine and track quality metrics and KPIsEstablish and optimize QA processes across the software development lifecycleDrive test automation initiatives and framework developmentCreate and maintain QA documentation, including test plans and strategies3. Technical Execution
Participate in hands-on testing activities when needed (approximately 30% of time)Review and approve test plans, test cases, and automation scriptsOversee test automation framework design and implementationEnsure adequate test coverage across functional, performance, and security testingLead root cause analysis for critical defects4. Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to align on quality goalsParticipate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and release planningCommunicate quality status and risks to stakeholders and leadershipCollaborate on CI / CD pipeline improvements and deployment strategiesWork with customer support to understand and address production issuesRequired Qualifications :
Experience-
10+ years of experience in software quality assurance5+ years in a QA leadership or management roleProven track record of building and scaling QA teamsExperience with both manual and automated testing methodologiesTechnical Skills-
Strong experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.)Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured)Familiarity with CI / CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI)Knowledge of test management tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr)Understanding of performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)Experience with version control systems (Git)Methodologies & Practices
Deep understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologiesExperience with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD)Knowledge of different testing types : functional, regression, integration, performance, securityUnderstanding of DevOps practices and shift-left testingPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldExperience in [specific industry - e.g., fintech, healthcare, e-commerce]Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Salesforce)Nice to Have Qualifications
