About the Role
The Manager – MICE & Travel Trade will be responsible for promoting a leading South-East destination across North and East India. The role demands strong corporate engagement, strategic market development, and relationship management with MICE agencies and travel trade partners to drive group travel, incentive movements, and destination awareness. This position combines sales, marketing coordination, client management, and trade education to increase business conversions from the market.
Responsibilities
Market Development & Client Engagement
Promote MICE travel to the destination in North & East India markets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior corporate decision-makers (70%) and MICE travel agencies (30%).
Identify & onboard at least 25 new corporate / trade contacts monthly (minimum 15 corporates).
Conduct in-person sales calls, presentations, and one-on-one meetings.
Deliver destination presentations to corporates, agencies, and large audience seminars.
Provide strategic insights and market intelligence for destination growth.
Account & Client Servicing
Manage day-to-day coordination with travel partners and destination teams.
Assist agencies / corporates with itinerary planning, destination guidance, and incentive ideas.
Ensure smooth support on group operations and trip planning.
Gather and report market feedback on trends and competitor activities.
Marketing Coordination
Support conceptualization and execution of MICE-focused co-op and trade marketing campaigns.
Assess proposals for ROI, quality, and brand consistency.
Track KPIs, manage deliverables, and maintain post-campaign documentation / invoicing.
Present periodic reports to the destination’s international team.
Trade Education & Development
Conduct destination training sessions and product updates for travel trade partners.
Collaborate with agencies to refine MICE itineraries and curated experiences.
Promote integration of destination highlights within MICE cruise itineraries and corporate programs.
Reporting & Analytics
Submit weekly sales activity and pipeline reports.
Prepare comprehensive monthly and half-yearly performance reports.
Maintain internal data, research records, and market analytics.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of the MICE and travel trade ecosystem.
Proven experience in corporate / incentive sales, preferably with hotel chains, tourism boards, or DMCs.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong command over Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and reporting tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within deadlines.
Analytical thinking with strategic marketing alignment capabilities.
