About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Scientist / Manager – R&D to lead hands-on product and technology development in thermal interface materials (TIMs), adhesives & sealants, potting compounds, and conformal coatings.
This role focuses primarily on silicone-based chemistries for electronics applications (RTV, addition-cure, condensation-cure, silicone gels, and thermal silicones) with potential expansion into epoxy, acrylic, and polyurethane systems.
The position combines formulation leadership, innovation strategy, and customer collaboration, reporting to the Head – Electronics Materials Business Unit (REM), and includes approximately 10–20% travel for customer validations and technology transfer.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize silicone-based formulations for electronics applications ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Lead end-to-end product development — from concept, lab formulation, and pilot trials to commercialization.
- Evaluate and qualify raw materials across silicone, epoxy, acrylic, and PU systems.
- Apply data-driven formulation optimization using experimental design and validation testing (thermal, mechanical, rheological, dielectric).
- Collaborate with Procurement, QA, Operations, and Sales / Marketing to define QC parameters and support go-to-market readiness.
- Engage directly with customers and A&TS teams to provide technical guidance and support field validations.
- Drive innovation, IP generation, and technology roadmap development in silicone and hybrid chemistries.
- Maintain strong documentation, technical reporting, and compliance with safety and 5S standards.
Requirements & Core Competencies
Education : M.Tech / M.Sc / Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering.Experience : 8–12 years of R&D experience in adhesives, coatings, or electronics materials, preferably in silicone systems.Technical Expertise :Hands-on experience with RTV, addition-cure, condensation-cure silicones, silicone gels, and thermal materials.Exposure to epoxy, acrylic, and PU systems preferred.Analytical Skills : Proficiency in DSC, TGA, FTIR, Rheometer, Thermal Conductivity, and Dielectric Testing; knowledge of ASTM / IPC / UL standards.Leadership & Collaboration : Strong formulation, data analysis, and cross-functional teamwork skills with a passion for innovation and process excellence.
