About the Role :
The Systems Team Lead will oversee the Solutions Engineering function within the Automation Technology Centre (ATC).
The role involves managing engineering activities across contract engineering and systems engineering, ensuring the delivery of high-quality RTU and SCADA solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and experience working with electrical distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Leadership & Team Management :
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of solutions engineers within the ATC.
- Allocate and supervise tasks, ensuring timely deliverables with high quality.
- Provide technical direction and foster continuous skill enhancement within the team.
2. Pre-Contract Engineering Support :
Support the Sales team by designing cost-effective and technically sound solutions for :RTU systems (standalone or integrated with switchgear).SCADA / electrical network solutions.Prepare technical proposals, BOMs, architecture diagrams, and cost estimates.Ensure solutions comply with customer requirements, internal product capabilities, and industry standards.3. Post-Contract Engineering Execution :
Lead the delivery of customer-funded or internally funded RTU and SCADA solutions.Manage the system design, configuration, testing, and documentation processes.Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Support) for project execution.Conduct FAT / SAT (Factory & Site Acceptance Testing) when required.4. Innovation & Technology Development :
Identify emerging technologies, tools, and methods that could enhance products and engineering productivity.Propose improvements in engineering processes, templates, and design frameworks.5. Documentation & Compliance :
Ensure version control of technical documents, design specifications, and configuration files.Maintain compliance with international standards and company policies.6. Additional Responsibilities :
Undertake any task necessary to improve department efficiency, quality, and service delivery.Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.Minimum Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation preferred).8+ years of engineering experience, including 3 to 4 years of leadership / team-lead exposure.Proven experience working in power systems, automation solutions, or electrical distribution networks.Functional Competencies :
Strong understanding of electrical distribution networks and utility systems.Experience managing and developing engineering teams.Proficiency in project planning & management.Familiarity with modern embedded electronic systems.Knowledge of international electrical and communication standards.Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Project).Experience using version-control systems for engineering documentation.Desirable Competencies :
Exposure to digital, analog, and power electronic technologies.Knowledge of communication protocols :IEC 60870-101 / 103 / 104DNP 3.0Experience with CAE / CAD tools and modern software development tools.Understanding of telecommunications and networking systems.Basic familiarity with accounting principles and business processes.Behavioral Competencies :
