Job Title : Lead Data Engineer - Azure

Location : Pune / Bangalore / Hyderabad (Hybrid Mode)

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer with a strong background in Azure cloud data platforms to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, ADLS, and SQL, with proven leadership skills to guide and mentor a data engineering team.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of scalable and high-performing data pipelines on Azure.
Architect and optimize ETL / ELT workflows leveraging Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks (PySpark), and Synapse Analytics.
Implement and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, and delta lake solutions using Azure.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, and data scientists to enable data-driven Drive best practices in data governance, security, performance optimization, and cost efficiency in Azure.
Mentor and manage a team of data engineers, ensuring delivery excellence and adherence to timelines.
Troubleshoot complex data processing issues and recommend long-term sustainable solutions.
Stay updated with the latest Azure data engineering trends, tools, and innovations.

Must-Have Skills :

8+ years of experience in data engineering with at least 4+ years in Azure Data Engineering ecosystem.

Strong expertise in :

1. Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipeline orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring.

2. Azure Databricks (PySpark / Spark SQL) scalable data transformations and big data processing.

3. Azure Synapse Analytics building and optimizing analytical data models.

4. Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) data lake architecture and security best practices.

Strong SQL programming and performance tuning skills.

Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (SCDs, Facts, Dimensions, Star / Snowflake schema).

Experience with CI / CD, Git, DevOps pipelines in Azure.

Proven experience in leading a team of engineers and delivering complex projects.

Good-to-Have Skills :

Experience with Azure Fabric, Power BI integration, or Snowflake.

Knowledge of event-driven architecture (EventHub, Kafka, Stream Analytics).

Familiarity with Python programming for automation and advanced data workflows.

Exposure to data quality frameworks and data governance tools.

Soft Skills :

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Ability to drive technical discussions and make strategic decisions.

Leadership and mentoring mindset.
