Role Overview
We are hiring a Video Editing Manager who will not only excel in creative editing but also lead, manage, and scale the video production team . This role requires a blend of creative vision, operational management, leadership capability, performance optimization, and strategic planning .
You will oversee a team, manage workflows, streamline processes, and ensure that all video outputs align with 1XL’s brand, goals, and digital strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of editors, junior creators, motion designers, and interns.
- Assign tasks, manage workloads, and oversee end-to-end production pipelines.
- Conduct weekly team meetings , provide feedback, and manage performance reviews.
- Hire, train, and develop new team members as the department expands.
- Build and maintain a collaborative, high-performance creative culture.
2. Creative Direction & Content Strategy
Define the creative direction for all video content across platforms.Work closely with founders and content heads to align content with brand vision.Translate briefs into clear creative guidelines, editing styles, and content structures.Approve scripts, storyboards, frameworks, and creative layouts.Ensure storytelling, pacing, and visual identity meet 1XL’s branding standards3. Department Operations & Workflow Optimisation
Create and maintain SOPs, style guides, video templates, LUTs , and editing frameworks.Build efficient workflows to increase output without compromising quality.Implement quality checks (QC) before publishing.Reduce turnaround time by improving processes and utilizing automation tools.Manage project prioritization and coordinate deadlines across teams.4. Project Ownership & Delivery Management
Own the video production calendar, deadlines, and deliverables.Ensure smooth execution of all content for YouTube, Reels / Shorts, TikTok, podcasts, ads, and training modules.Delegate tasks based on team strengths and project requirements.Ensure all final outputs are on-brand, on-time, and error-free.5. Video Editing & Post-Production
Skilled in editing raw footage into polished videos, including color correction, sound balancing, transitions, and motion graphics.Ability to repurpose long-form content into short-form clips suitable for Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.Experience with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.6. AI, Tools & Innovation Leadership
Lead the integration of AI tools into the editing workflow to improve speed and creativity :Runway MLOpusClip / DummeDescriptCapCut AI featuresPika Labs (for generative visuals)Train the team on AI-enhanced editing, auto-captioning, motion tracking, and repurposing tools.Research and implement new tools that enhance efficiency and output quality.7. Trend Intelligence & Content Performance
Build content strategies based on trending formats, viral structures, and platform best practices.Conduct trend forecasting to stay ahead of Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok styles.Work with the social media team to understand performance metrics (retention, watch time, CTR).Improve content structure based on analytics, hooks, and viewer behaviour insights.8. Cross-Department Collaboration
Coordinate with branding, marketing, training, and leadership teams.Translate brand requirements into clear video ideas and execution plans.Support founders in creating content, scripts, and brand films.Work with designers to sync visual identity across all media.Required Skills & Qualifications
Creative Leadership Skills
Strong creative direction, visual storytelling, and brand understanding.Ability to mentor and develop a creative team.Ability to plan, supervise, and execute multi-format content pipelines.Technical Expertise

Bachelor’s in Media, Film, Animation, or related field (preferred).4–6 years of strong experience in editing and video production.Experience managing a creative or editing team (strong advantage).Experience in agency environments or fast-paced digital content teams.
