Position Overview
The Venture Capital Junior Analyst will play a critical role in supporting our investment team by conducting research, performing due diligence, and analyzing potential investment opportunities. This entry-level position is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a passion for startups, finance, and innovation. The role offers an opportunity to learn the venture capital industry, work closely with senior analysts and partners, and contribute to high-impact investment decisions.
Though directly employed by our firm, you will also track investments and evaluate opportunities for our affiliated entities, Adaptive Ventures, Launch Fund4, and YXS Capital.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Support : A key part of the role is to monitor and analyze the performance of over 100 portfolio companies, providing updates and insights to the managing partner, with whom you will directly work.
- Market Research and Analysis : Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, technologies, and competitive landscapes in target industries. AI will be a key part of many investments, so a keen interest in AI is essential for the role.
- Deal Research : Assist in identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities by reviewing pitch decks, business plans, and financial models.
- Due Diligence : Support due diligence processes, including financial analysis, business model evaluation, and risk assessment of prospective portfolio companies.
- Financial Modeling : Build and analyze financial models to assess company valuations, growth projections, and return potential.
- Investment Memos : Prepare detailed investment memos, presentations, and reports for internal discussions and investment committee reviews.
- Administrative Support : Assist with deal documentation, data management, and other operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. Strong academic performance is preferred.Analytical Skills : Exceptional quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.Technical Proficiency : Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.Passion for Startups : Keen interest in AI, technology, and innovation, with a desire to learn about the venture capital ecosystem.Team Player : Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail in research, analysis, and reporting.Experience : 0–2 years of experience in finance, consulting, investment banking, or a related field. Internships or relevant coursework / projects are a plus. Will consider a strong recent graduate committed to learning and excelling.Preferred Skills
Some familiarity with venture capital, private equity, or startup ecosystems.Basic understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and investment metrics (e.g., IRR, ROI).Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.Proactive, curious, and eager to learn about new industries and technologies.What We Offer
