Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and certified Medical Coding Trainer to deliver high-quality training sessions on ICD-10-CM , CPT , and HCPCS coding systems. The trainer will guide students through the theoretical and practical aspects of medical coding, prepare them for certification exams such as CPC , and support their placement readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive classroom and / or online sessions on :
- Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology
- ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Healthcare compliance, HIPAA, and billing processes
- Design and update training materials, assignments, and mock tests.
- Assess student performance and provide regular feedback.
- Prepare students for AAPC CPC or AHIMA certification exams.
- Stay updated with the latest coding updates and regulatory guidelines.
- Support placement activities by ensuring students meet job-readiness standards.
Qualification Requirements
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences / Pharmacy / Nursing / Physiotherapy / Biotechnology / Allied Health Sciences.OR any graduate with at least 2 years of relevant medical coding experience.Professional Certification (Preferred) :
AAPC – CPC (Certified Professional Coder)AHIMA – CCA / CCSICD-10-CM or CPT / HCPCS certificationExperience :
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in medical coding (hospital, healthcare, or BPO setting).Minimum 1+ years of training / teaching experience preferred.Required Skills
Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Proficiency with medical billing workflow and compliance standards.Ability to create training materials and evaluate student progress.Basic computer literacy and familiarity with EHR / coding tools (3M, Optum360, etc.).Why Join KIT Skill Hub
