Description : Segment Head MBC, AMI & EPC Services (Power) - We are seeking an experienced and highly strategic leader to drive the national growth and execution of our core utility and smart infrastructure services. This is a critical leadership role that combines high-stakes business development with rigorous project governance. The Head of Strategic Growth will be responsible for defining the growth playbook across multiple verticals (MBC, AMI, EPC, Smart Infra), managing key client relationships (DISCOMs, PSUs), leading complex bidding processes (especially under RDSS), and ensuring the profitable, timely execution of all large-scale utility contracts.
Key Responsibilities
1. National Growth Strategy & Business Development
Strategic Direction : Develop and execute a comprehensive national growth strategy for the companys service lines : Meter Billing & Collection (MBC), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), EPC (Transmission & Distribution and Solar), and Smart Infrastructure projects.
Client Relationship Management : Build, nurture, and manage high-level, strategic relationships with key stakeholders including DISCOMs, AMISPs, Central and State PSUs, smart city agencies, and infrastructure bodies to secure long-term partnerships and pipeline opportunities.
Market Penetration : Identify new geographical markets and service lines in line with regulatory and central government scheme mandates (e.g., RDSS).
2. Bidding, Proposals, and Contracting
Bid Leadership : Lead the end-to-end bidding and proposal development process for high-value utility contracts, ensuring all submissions are technically compliant, financially competitive, and strategically aligned with internal eligibility criteria.
RDSS Expertise : Ensure deep knowledge and application of RDSS (Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme) guidelines in all proposal submissions and project structuring to maximize commercial viability and compliance.
Contract Negotiation : Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with clients and partners, ensuring favorable terms, clear scope definitions, and effective risk allocation.
3. Project Governance & Execution Excellence
Execution Oversight : Ensure rigorous contract compliance and SLA adherence across all high-value utility projects (AMI, EPC, MBC), focusing on quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
Risk Management : Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to project delivery, regulatory changes, contractual obligations, and technology deployment, protecting the companys financial and reputational interests.
Quality Assurance : Drive operational excellence and best practices in project management, especially critical for large-scale infrastructure deployments.
4. Financial and Cross-Functional Leadership
Financial Performance Monitoring : Closely monitor the financial health of all projects, including meticulous tracking of billing, collections, project margins, and cash flows. Implement controls to ensure adherence to financial targets.
Internal Coordination : Serve as the central coordination point, driving internal alignment across all support functions including Operations, Pre-Sales / Engineering, Finance, and Legal for seamless project governance and rapid issue resolution.
Team Leadership : Lead and mentor the Bidding and Project Management teams, fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and high performance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education (Mandatory) : B. Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering is mandatory. An MBA in Finance or Operations is strongly preferred.
Experience : 8+ years of progressive experience in the power utility sector.
Sector Expertise (Mandatory) : Extensive, proven experience in MBC / AMI services and / or EPC project management (specifically T&D / Solar segments).
