Job Purpose
The Chamber is seeking a senior professional to lead its Banking, Financial Services, Insurance (BFSI) and NBFC vertical. The incumbent will be responsible for driving policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives across the financial sector, while generating revenue through sponsorships, memberships, and government / industry projects.
This role requires a leader with deep understanding of the financial ecosystem — encompassing banking, insurance, fintech, NBFCs, and capital markets — along with the ability to engage with policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders on sectoral reforms and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Policy Advocacy & Regulatory Engagement
Lead the Chamber’s policy advocacy efforts for the BFSI, NBFC, and Insurance sectors.
Develop and present policy papers, recommendations, and position notes addressing industry issues such as financial inclusion, credit access, regulatory compliance, digital finance, and risk management.
Engage with key regulators and ministries including RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, DFS (Ministry of Finance), and State Governments.
Represent the Chamber in high-level meetings, consultations, and committees.
2. Sectoral Development & Strategic Programs
Identify emerging trends in fintech, insure tech, green finance, and digital lending.
Conceptualize and execute flagship initiatives, reports, and research studies on financial inclusion, capital access for MSMEs, and sectoral reforms.
Build strategic alliances with financial institutions, industry bodies, and academic institutions.
3. Revenue Generation & Business Development
Drive revenue targets through sponsorships, memberships, conferences, and government / industry projects.
Develop project proposals for financial literacy, capacity building, and policy research, and secure funding from government and multilateral agencies.
Create opportunities for strategic partnerships with leading banks, NBFCs, insurance firms, and fintech players.
4. Member Engagement & Industry Outreach
Strengthen engagement with members and institutional stakeholders across the BFSI ecosystem.
Organize high-impact conferences, roundtables, delegations, and dialogues to promote sectoral collaboration and thought leadership.
Expand membership base across banking, insurance, and emerging fintech domains.
Education and Experience
Postgraduate degree in Finance / Economics / Management / Public Policy or a related discipline.
15–18 years of experience in the BFSI domain — preferably in banks, NBFCs, insurance companies, consulting firms, or industry associations.
Strong understanding of financial markets, regulatory frameworks, and public policy.
Proven track record of working with government bodies, industry associations, startups, and investors.
Experience in policy advocacy, ecosystem building, and managing incubation or accelerator programs is highly desirable.

Financial Acumen : Understanding of funding mechanisms, investment processes, and financial management related to startups and innovation projects.
Innovation Mindset : Deep understanding of innovation trends, technology commercialization, and entrepreneurship dynamics.
Team Leadership : Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Networking : Strong ability to build partnerships and collaborations nationally and internationally.
IT Skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for document preparation, data analysis, and presentations.
Email and Calendar Management using MS Outlook or similar tools for scheduling and coordination.
Virtual Meeting Platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet) for webinars, meetings, and online events.
Online Research Skills to gather industry data, track policy updates, and prepare briefing notes.
Familiar with the use of Artificial Intelligence tools, including ChatGPT and similar platforms, for enhancing efficiency and communication. Comfortable working in ERP environments and leveraging digital systems for process optimization and data-driven decision-making
