Director of Engineering - Frontend

About the Role : We’re seeking a Director of Engineering – Frontend to lead the next phase of our client's product evolution. This role will drive the frontend engineering vision, architecture, and execution across web and mobile platforms, ensuring world-class performance, scalability, and user experience. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, product-first environment and has a deep understanding of building high-performing engineering teams in the e-commerce or quick-commerce space.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing frontend engineering team responsible for consumer-facing and internal products.

Define and execute the frontend technology roadmap in alignment with business goals and product vision.

Partner closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Own architecture decisions for the frontend ecosystem, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Drive engineering excellence by instituting best practices in performance optimization, code quality, and continuous delivery.

Evaluate and introduce modern frameworks, tools, and workflows to improve development velocity and product quality.

Establish a strong engineering culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and ownership.

Requirements :

Education : B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science or related field from a top-tier engineering institute (IITs, BITS, NITs, IIITs preferred).

Experience : 8–14 years of total experience, with at least 2–4 years in a leadership capacity managing large frontend teams.

Proven track record of building and scaling frontend systems in e-commerce or quick-commerce companies.

Strong expertise in modern frontend technologies such as React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and associated tooling.

Experience architecting complex, large-scale, high-traffic web and mobile applications.

Deep understanding of performance optimization, responsive design, and frontend infrastructure.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence at senior levels.
