Job description6-8 years of backend or integration development experience (preferably in fintech, SaaS, or wealthtech). Strong hands-on experience with Node.js for REST API and middleware development. Solid knowledge of Kong API Gateway (or similar). Familiarity with integration methods : REST / SOAP APIs, webhooks, message queues, SFTP. Experience with financial data formats (FIX, OFX, JSON, XML). Comfort with async tools (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.). Deep understanding of API / middleware security best practices.
One of our leading clients in the BFSI industry is developing the next-generation WealthTech platform, and integrations are at its core. We’re seeking candidates with strong API and middleware expertise to design and maintain the layer that connects our core wealth management system to external platforms.
This is a hands-on development role where you’ll work with Node.js, Kong API Gateway, and Kafka / RabbitMQ to enable reliable, secure, and scalable system-to-system communication.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain middleware services to manage data exchange between internal and external systems.
- Develop REST APIs and asynchronous processing flows using Node.js.
- Implement and configure Kong API Gateway for routing, authentication, and throttling.
- Handle data transformation, mapping, validation, and orchestration.
- Apply middleware-focused design patterns (façade, adapter, event-driven messaging).
- Work with queues (Kafka / RabbitMQ) and file-based inputs (SFTP) for async integrations.
- Secure endpoints using OAuth2, JWT, API keys, and rate limiting.
- Write testable, maintainable code with robust logging and monitoring.
