Job Description
We are seeking a Product Development Engineer with a strong background in polymer processing, materials engineering, or mechanical engineering to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing fluoropolymer-based products and components for industrial applications such as pumps, valves, corrosion-resistant systems, and high-purity solutions.
This role involves close collaboration with OEM customers, internal production teams, and quality departments to deliver cost-effective, innovative, and reliable products that meet industry standards (ASTM, ASME, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products and components using fluoropolymers (PTFE, PFA, FEP, etc.) based on customer / OEM requirements.
- Support prototype development, process optimization, and product validation activities.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams on molding, machining, lining, and fabrication processes .
- Conduct material selection, testing, and failure analysis to improve product performance.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as drawings, BOMs, and product specifications.
- Ensure compliance with ASTM / ASME standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Provide technical support during customer discussions, audits, and project reviews .
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to reduce cost and improve quality .
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing product lines.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of polymer materials (especially fluoropolymers) and mechanical properties.Familiarity with plastic molding, machining, extrusion, and lining techniques .Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).Understanding of ASTM, ASME, and other industrial standards .Problem-solving mindset with root cause analysis capability.Good understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles.Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration .Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.Education & Experience
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Polymer, or Materials Engineering2–5 years of experience in product development, R&D, or process engineering (fluoropolymers / polymers preferred).Experience with 3D modeling, product testing, and process optimization is desirable.Freshers with exceptional academic records and relevant project work may be considered for junior roles.
