Job Description : Application Lead - Payments

Locations : Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai

Experience : 3 - 10 years

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Application Lead to join our team, specializing in payments. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of payments fundamentals and a knack for technical leadership. You will be a key decision-maker and a mentor, guiding a team to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) : Serve as the primary subject matter expert and decision-maker for the team on all application and payment-related matters.
  • Team Leadership : Lead, collaborate with, and manage a team of developers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, robust solutions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Engage with multiple teams, stakeholders, and business units to contribute to key architectural and technical decisions.
  • Technical & Functional Solutions : Provide expert technical and functional guidance across teams, troubleshooting complex issues and offering innovative solutions.
  • Mentorship : Mentor junior team members, helping them to grow their technical expertise and professional skills.
  • Process Improvement : Continuously identify opportunities to improve team processes, workflows, and overall efficiency.

Professional & Technical Skills

  • Payments Expertise : A must-have deep and comprehensive expertise in Payments Fundamentals.
  • Application Design & Development : Strong knowledge of application design and development methodologies.
  • Project Management : Hands-on experience with project management tools and techniques, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Troubleshooting : Proficient in analyzing and troubleshooting application issues to provide swift and effective resolutions.
  • Methodologies : A solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

    • Qualifications :

  • Education : 15 years of full-time education is required.
  • Experience : A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, up to 10 years.

    • Professional & Technical Skills :

  • Deep expertise in Payments Fundamentals with knowledge of standards like ISO 8583, UPI, SWIFT, PCI DSS
  • Strong background in application design & development using Java / .NET with API integration & microservices
  • Proficiency in databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
  • Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and application security principles
