Job Title : Alation Developer

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled Alation Developer with extensive experience in the credit card industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data cataloging, metadata management, and data governance, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining our Alation platform to ensure optimal data management and utilization.

Key Responsibilities :

Platform Development and Maintenance :

Develop, configure, and maintain the Alation data catalog platform.
Implement data cataloging, metadata management, and data governance features.
Ensure seamless integration of Alation with various data sources and business intelligence tools.

Data Management :

Capture, manage, and enrich metadata from various data sources.

Establish and maintain data lineage to track data movement and transformations.

Monitor data quality and implement measures to improve data accuracy and reliability.

Collaboration :

Collaborate with data stewards, data analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with data governance policies.

Provide support to end-users on the effective use of Alation for data discovery and analysis.

Promote best practices in data management and governance across the organization.

Problem Solving and Optimization :

Identify and resolve issues related to data cataloging and metadata management.

Optimize the performance and scalability of the Alation platform.

Stay updated with the latest features and enhancements in Alation and implement relevant updates.

Documentation and Reporting :

Document system configurations, data workflows, and data governance policies.

Generate reports and insights on data usage, data quality, and data governance compliance.

Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

5-8 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related field.

Experience in the credit card is Must.

Proven experience with the Alation data catalog platform.

Experience with JIRA and Confluence tool is must.

Proficiency in data cataloging and metadata management.

Strong knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.

Experience with data integration tools and technologies.

Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.

Understanding of database systems, data warehouses, and data lakes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality.
